Dane's practice focuses on energy and telecommunications. His clients include providers and consumers of natural gas, electric, and telecommunication services. Dane represents clients on regulatory matters before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) and the Ohio Supreme Court, and counsels them on regulatory, marketing and commercial matters affecting their business operations.
Dane has over 20 years of experience in regulatory activity affecting the natural gas and electric industries, and recently has represented and counseled clients in Ohio's electric utilities' rate stabilization plan proceedings, FirstEnergy's rate certainty plan proceedings, American Electric Power's proposal to construct an IGCC generating facility, the Cinergy/Duke merger proceeding, Vectren's base rate proceeding, various rulemakings, and miscellaneous matters involving governmental aggregation and customer choice, including local distribution companies' exit from the merchant function.
Dane formerly was the PUCO's deputy legal director and served with the Ohio Supreme Court as the Master Commissioner for public utility matters.
