Doug Anderson, Of Counsel
Doug is Of Counsel to the firm, and is a member of the Corporate practice group. Doug practices in the areas of insurance law and compliance, health care law, and general business matters.
Doug represents clients in regulatory, commercial and corporate matters. Doug joins Bailey Cavalieri after serving as Chief Policy Officer and a Policy Attorney for the Ohio Department of Insurance. While at the Department, Doug drafted insurance laws, administrative rules, regulatory guidance and consumer guides on a wide range of insurance issues. As Chief Policy Officer, Doug oversaw government affairs, policy and legislation for the Department. Doug worked closely with state and federal regulators, legislators and agencies to enforce and apply state and federal laws.
Doug has significant experience with matters involving insurance licensure, product development, policy language, underwriting and rating practices, financial oversight, market conduct examinations, corporate governance and agent regulation. Additionally, Doug led efforts in Ohio to implement state and federal health insurance laws, and served as Team Leader for Ohio State Coverage Initiative, Ohio's Project Leader to implement a high risk pool, and Ohio's Project Leader to plan for a health insurance exchange in accordance with the Affordable Care Act. Doug also is an experienced litigator representing business clients in corporate and commercial disputes and insurance companies in tort and coverage disputes.
Doug has experience with all lines of insurance and is a frequent speaker on insurance, business and health care related issues.
